One of our favorite things to do is look at pictures of beautiful home offices. It’s easy to get ideas and fantasize about how our future home office will look. Even though we like rooms with a lot of light, a dark home office can be appealing, especially during “the afternoon squintathon.”
Since most of the pages are white, it might be better to use a dark background in this case.
For the same reason, though, we should choose light brown. (Steam Beach comes to mind)
The rest of the room’s decor will tell you that. There is no one best finish for a desk. Still, I can give you some general guidelines based on the style you want to achieve.
Because this room is so neutral, with grey walls, dark grey trim, and hardwood floors, you have a lot of choices for desk colors. These pictures only show how beautiful the desk’s colors are; the design can’t be seen.
That would save you a lot of time, no doubt about it. First, discuss styles and colors with your client. Think of ideas, bring whatever samples you have, and then move on. If you only want something for yourself, you can look on the Internet or in a magazine. You’ll exceed your expectations!
If you have a big, open room that feels too big to be comfortable, dark furniture might be a great choice. By making the area smaller, it feels warmer and more inviting.
Fully Jarvis costs less than $600, but I’m not sure about the color. The black and brown Ikea furniture in my room would go well with a dark desk, but I’m not sure I like the idea of a dark desk. I like to study or work in a place that is open and has a lot of light. I don’t know if a dark desk would make things worse or not. I’d go to the library or a coffee shop to study or work because I need big, open spaces with enough light.
Everything on my computer is black: the screen, the mouse, the keyboard, the headset, and the microphone. So, what do you think? I’m not sure if I should get a white desk and a black chair to make the room stand out, but I’m leaning toward white.
